Message from the Principal
Faith matters at Knox College and it is faith matters that makes Knox a dynamic place to explore God’s call.
On behalf of everyone at Knox College I welcome you, and invite you to explore our programs, residence and broader community through these pages. At Knox we work hard to live out our mission of educating women and men for faithful and creative Christian ministries and scholarship. We also provide a welcoming home away from home for our many residents.
Since 1844 Knox has been committed to pursuing excellence in theological education. Located at the heart of the University of Toronto campus we provide our students with a rich and rewarding experience of cross-cultural learning, top-tier research facilities, access to over 200 professors and an opportunity to learn and grow in an ecumenical, and multi-faith, environment. Students have access to the world and its challenges at their very doorstep.
As the largest of three seminaries for The Presbyterian Church in Canada, our curriculum and training is grounded in the thinking and practice of the Reformed tradition. We are a founding member of the Toronto School of Theology, an ecumenical consortium representing a broad spectrum of the Christian Church.
We strive to foster a community of collaborative teaching and learning that reflects our belief that teaching and learning engages faculty, students, graduates and the broader church. We believe also that learning is lifelong.
At Knox we seek to be faithful to what we believe God is calling us to do and we enjoy supporting and preparing current and future ministers, congregations and lay leaders as all seek to respond to God’s call.
I hope that your relationship with Knox will be, as it has been for so many others, a rich and rewarding experience.
