Education does not end at graduation – it is a life-long process. Knox College offers its graduates and friends the opportunity to stay current with theological thinking and practice through lectures and workshops offered throughout the year.
Ada Adams Lectureship
The Ada Adams Lectureship was established in 1980 in memory of Miss Adams, a former Dean of Ewart College. In keeping with her specialization, this lectureship focuses on ministry with children and youth.
Charles H. MacDonald Lectureship
The Charles H. MacDonald Memorial Lectureship was established by his family in 1954, to honour the memory of The Rev. Dr. Charles MacDonald. The lectureship was endowed “to relate to some aspect of practical ministry in church or society” and where possible to be delivered by a minister or member of The Presbyterian Church in Canada.
The Chris Vais Memorial Lectureship
Co-sponsored by St. Andrew’s King Street, The Chris Vais Memorial Lectureship is an event to remember and celebrate the life of The Rev. Dr. Christopher James Vais (1962-2002). Chris, a graduate of Knox College in 1987, was diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gerhig’s disease) in 1997. Knox conferred on him the honorary degree of Doctor of Divinity in recognition of his outstanding ministry.
The Church in the 21st Century Event
A special event cosponsored by St. Andrew’s Church, Toronto.
The Robert Laidlaw Lectureship
The Robert Laidlaw Lectureship was established with gifts from Walter C. Laidlaw and Robert A. Laidlaw in honour of their father, Robert Laidlaw. The expressed desire of the donors was that the income from these gifts be used to bring distinguished scholars to the College.
Knox College Summer Program
Knox College offers stimulating summer courses for curious minds. Formerly in conjunction with Elderhostel.
