This presentation will help you re-imagine leadership as a practice focused primarily on helping a congregation have the most positive experience of change possible. Emerging from tenets of our faith and learnings from the social sciences we will explore how to create a greater readiness for change, attitudes and how they are changed, a basic model for motivational leadership, how congregational anxiety hinders and helps, the different kinds of people needed in order to get on board with a new direction and the necessity for and elements of a good change story.
The Rev. Dr. Peter Coutts CEC is General Presbyter of the Presbytery of Calgary-Macleod and has been a minister for 26 years. He is an Executive Coach certified by the International Coach Federation and the author of Choosing Change: How to Motivate Churches to Face the Future.
|Re-imagining Women’s Leadership: One Woman’s Story
With The Rev. Dr. Sang Chang
The Rev. Dr Chang has been a pioneer in opening new doors for women’s participation in new realms. She is a respected scholar in New Testament studies, the author of many publications and was one of the founding members of the Korean Association of Women Theologians. She was the first person to be appointed prime minister of the Republic of Korea in 2002, thus paving the way for women’s leadership in Korean politics. She will share stories of her life in leadership.
The Dr Sang Chang is Co-President of the World Council of Churches and an ordained minister of the Presbyterian Church in the Republic of Korea.
