Nora Carmi, public lecturer, to speak at Knox College

A Moment of Truth: Facts and Faith A Palestinian Christian Call Wednesday, May 30, 2012 - 9a.m. to 11a.m. Knox College - Toronto School of Theology - 59 St. George Street - Classroom 4  Nora Carmi will address the need to challenge the misuse of religion as a tool helping to maintain the occupation of Palestine and that organized religions can be instrumental to a peaceful solution with the model of a shared, open city of Jerusalem for all.   She will also be responding to the recent 60 Minutes segment (aired on April 22) on CBS TV that examined the plight of Palestinian Christians in the Holy Land. The segment has received both praise and much criticism. The piece featured the key document, Kairos Palestine, of which Ms. Carmi was one of the main contributors.  Ms. Carmi is a prominent Christian from the West Bank and is one of the forces behind the Kairos Palestine document. A committed community-builder within the Palestinian society, Ms. Carmi, in addition to her work in the West Bank and Jerusalem, has also traversed the globe with her work for justice and peace.
