The Rev. Linda Ashfield has been invited to deliver the Convocation Address at Knox’s 172nd Convocation on May 11, 2016. Serving The Presbyterian Church in Canada in various capacities for many years, The Rev. Linda Ashfield has also organized numerous projects committed to bettering the spiritual and physical lives of communities around the world. The Rev. Linda Ashfield and her husband The Rev. Brooke Ashfield have ministered together at Knox Presbyterian Church, Waterloo, for over 25 years. Please read her brief bio below.
The Rev. Linda Ashfield will also be leading the pre-Convocation workshop on May 11, 2016. Plan to join us for Convocation by participating in the pre-Convocation workshop and other Convocation events, as well as to congratulate the 2016 class of graduating students.

Knox Presbyterian Church, Waterloo
Linda Ashfield grew up in Ottawa, where she attended Knox Church with her family and was actively involved in church life until she completed her B.A. in Religion and Art History from Carleton University. Graduating from Knox College with her Master of Divinity in 1979, Linda was appointed to the two-point charge of Chatsworth and Dornoch (not far from Owen Sound), before moving to team ministry with her husband Brooke at Gateway Community Church, Flemingdon Park in Toronto. Since 1989, Linda and Brooke have been ministering together at Knox Presbyterian, Waterloo.
Linda has served The Presbyterian Church in Canada (PCC) in a number of capacities including as a member of the Board of Ministry, the Board of Congregational Life, the Board of World Mission, the Board of Directors for the Experimental Fund, and Convenor of Local Arrangements for the General Assembly in 2014 when it met in Waterloo. While she was Moderator of the Presbytery of Waterloo-Wellington (2012-2013), she was invited by the Presbyterian Church in Taiwan to attend their General Assembly and to participate in an exchange with the Bunun Presbytery in Taiwan. Having served on the boards and directing various PCC camps, for six years Linda was also on the Board of the McLean Estate (Crieff Hills Community) and helped create Manna Days at Crieff.
Actively working to involve children and youth in the church, Linda helped create PCC`s Youth in Mission initiative and worked as YIM’s National Co-ordinator. Linda has also been active in Youth Triennium and a number of Canada Youth Events, from serving as the Canadian National Co-ordinator for Youth Triennium in 1986 to preaching at the closing service at Canada Youth in 2012. As minister at Knox Waterloo, Linda also led two youth mission teams to Winnipeg Inner City Missions at Anishinabe Place and Flora House.
Linda has been instrumental in connecting the congregation of Knox PC, Waterloo, with local communities as well as communities around the world by organizing trips for congregational members to visit and work in post-Katrina New Orleans; Cluj, Romania; and China through PCC, PCUSA and Habitat for Humanity projects. To recognize and celebrate the work they have done in the renewal of their church, youth programs and the establishment of community partnerships with their congregation, Linda and Brooke received the Distinguished Leadership Award from Knox College at its 170th Anniversary Convocation in 2014.READ MORE

Marina comes to Knox with over 12 years of experience, in housekeeping at hotels and the last 4 years at a retirement residence.
