Admission Requirements
For Basic Degrees
Master of Theological Studies (M.T.S)
Master of Religious Education (M.R.E)
You need complete the following in your application:
- The Knox BD Application Form
- An official transcript of your undergraduate degree
- 70% overall standing
- Photocopies are not acceptable
- Two letters of reference to be sent directly to the Registrar by referees: one from your present minister, one from a professor or employer. Please use the provided Reference Letter Request Form
- A statement of approximately 100 words indicating why this degree is important to you.
- TST/U of T Student Information form
- An acceptable TOEFL and TWE exam score if English is a second language or a petition for an exemption from TOEFL/TWE if you have been successful in a University where the language of instruction is English. Minimum score: TOEFL 580, TWE 5.
- An admissions interview may be required

Advanced Degrees
Items needed to complete your application:
- An official transcript
- For M.A. programs, an undergraduate degree with at least a B+ average
- For Th.M., an M.Div. with at least a B+ average
- For Doctoral programs, an undergraduate degree and masters level work with an A- average
- Photocopies are not acceptable
- Two academic letters of reference
- An acceptable TOEFL and TWE exam score if English is a second language or a petition for an exemption from TOEFL/TWE if you have been successful in a University where the language of instruction is English. Minimum score: TOEFL 600, TWE 5.
